Pipette Tip FAQ's

These pipette tips are single‑use consumables designed for accurate and
precise transfer of liquids in laboratory workflows such as PCR, qPCR, cell
culture, ELISA, and general liquid handling.

They are designed to be compatible with Rainin LTS pipettes, but will also fit
most standard single‑ and multi‑channel air‑displacement pipettes.

Tip volume range is 50–1000 µL; with a maximum volume of 1000 µL.

Standard tips rely on a broad conical surface that must be firmly jammed onto
the pipette nozzle, requiring relatively high attachment and ejection forces. LTS
tips, by contrast, have a defined, narrow sealing area and a matching nozzle
geometry, which creates a reliable seal with significantly lower force.

LTS systems are designed so that the reduced insertion force does not
compromise the quality of the seal. As long as you use matched LTS pipettes
and tips, you can maintain high accuracy and precision comparable to, or better
than, traditional tip systems.

By lowering the force required for tip loading and ejection, LTS systems can
help reduce thumb and hand fatigue, and may lower the risk of repetitive strain
injuries for users who pipette frequently throughout the day.

Types and Selection

Filter tips include an internal barrier that helps block aerosols and liquid from
entering the pipette shaft, reducing cross‑contamination and protecting the
instrument, whereas standard tips do not have this barrier.

Use filter tips for PCR/qPCR, genetic and forensic workflows, infectious or
biohazardous samples, radioactive or highly volatile/viscous liquids, and any
assay where aerosol carryover could affect results.

Match the tip to your pipette brand, volume range, and sample type: use filter
and sterile tips for sensitive or hazardous work.

Performance and Use

Yes, tip geometry, fit, and surface properties directly influence volume delivery,
so a well‑matched, high‑quality tip improves accuracy, precision, and
reproducibility of results.

Change tips between samples whenever there is a risk of contamination or
carryover, especially in PCR/qPCR, clinical, or cell culture workflows.

Materials, Safety, and Handling

These tips are made from medical/laboratory grade, autoclavable
polypropylene that offers good chemical compatibility for standard aqueous
solutions and many common reagents.

Yes, sterile, filtered tips are certified RNase‑/DNase‑free and pyrogen‑free.

Yes, our non‑filter polypropylene tips are autoclavable; some pre‑sterilized or
filtered formats are supplied ready‑to‑use and not intended for re‑autoclaving.

Store tips in closed racks or sealed refill systems in a clean, dry environment
away from extreme temperatures to prevent contamination and deformation.

Packaging and Ordering

Tips may be supplied in pre‑racked, stackable, bulk bagged, or reload‑system
formats to match your lab’s throughput needs.

Our tips are configured in 96‑tip racks and multi‑rack cases (e.g., 10 racks per
case).
